1. Demand Response:

  • Clients can get sizable recurring payments for being willing to shed load or use back-up generation during brief curtailment calls, now through May 2012.

  • It’s a low risk / high payback proposition:
    While clients could be asked to curtail multiple times, there were just two events for under 10 hours over the past two years.

  • No out of pocket costs or penalties.

  • To qualify to earn payments, clients must be able to reduce demand on the grid by 100 kW or more.

2. Price Response:

  • Clients can get paid to voluntarily curtail load/use generators based on favorable market prices throughout the year – just like a power generator.

  • Clients choose when to curtail based on day-ahead or real-time price signals, using innovative software.
