Retail Services

ENE’s Retail Energy Services Portfolio

Energy New England provides an array of energy evaluation and efficiency services to help the commercial, industrial and even the residential customers of municipal utilities. Such services help to enhance energy usage, deliver energy savings, optimize assets and quantify steps that customers can take to become more intelligent users of all energy commodities.

For commercial and industrial accounts, ENE offers:

Diagnostic Services: These specialized services help to identify sub-optimal – and therefore inefficient -- performance in equipment or process. Among the hardware evaluated: meters, motors, drives, and energy management systems. Such services can also address the application and evaluation of predictive and preventive maintenance programs for commercial and industrial facilities, as well.

Energy Evaluation Services: These services, including our EnergyCheck offering, help end-users better understand how energy is used within their facilities, and how they can attain greater energy efficiency and savings. Services range from high-level “Preliminary Facility Evaluations” (PFE) to investment-grade audits that are among the most thorough – and straightforward – in the industry. Through these services, retail customers can attain equipment inventories, energy consumption profiles, extensive end-use evaluations, and equipment and process recommendations to enhance operations and reduce operating costs. All recommended measures are quantified and all end-uses (envelope, HVAC, lighting, motors, drives, etc.) are evaluated. Moreover, we also assess all fuels, including natural gas, propane and oil. Our work is fully customized on behalf of the utility, as well.

EnergyPlus: ENE offers this innovative revenue-sharing program for a utility’s key retail accounts. ENE partners with the utility to deliver financial rewards for those key accounts that agree to either curtail load or operate generation during periods of peak demand. Three benefits are derived at times of high clearing prices: the need for peaking resources is reduced; selling more energy to the ISO generates incremental revenues; and ISO load-based fees are reduced.

Marketing & Communications Support: ENE provides an array of services to help municipal utilities in such areas as strategic planning, load retention, key account program development, incentive program development, rate review and evaluation, and customer care initiatives, including newsletter services. All marketing and communications services are provided on a turnkey basis, and ENE works closely with each municipal system to ensure such undertakings are consistent with the strategic goals and objectives of our municipal utility customers.

For residential accounts, ENE offers:

Residential Conservation Services: ENE provides an array of conservation and energy efficiency services to help the residential accounts of our municipal system customers. Such services are offered on behalf of each municipal utility and are in complete compliance with state and/or federal regulations and include:
